Mirja Nathan was a warlord contemporary to Mughal emperors Jahangir and Shahjahan. He fought under subedaar Islam Khan who arrived in Bengal in 1607 , against the revolting ‘baro bhuiyans‘ and others. He used to maintain a log and based on that log, wrote this historical memoir during the reign of Shahjanan. He used the alias ‘Gayabi’. This book provides hitherto unavailable information about Bengal during the Mughal regime.
